Introducing the 7th Regiment Caption Heads and Coordinators for 2017!
Long-time staff member Brendan Mason will be assuming the role of Battery Caption Head for the 2017 season! 2017 will be Brendan’s 8th season with 7th! Brendan works as a public school educator but is more well-known in the Drum & Fife and Rudimental Drumming Worlds where he has traveled internationally as a performer and clinician.

Dr. Scott Tomlison is returning for his fourth year on staff and first as the 7R Brass Caption Head. Scott has an extensive collegiate teaching resume, and is currently an Associate Music Education professor at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. He is also an active adjudicator and clinician around the United States. He was a member of the inaugural seasons with Star of Indiana, and has worked with Limited Edition and Music City. He is also an active adjudicator and clinician around the United States.
Sean Lee is moving into the role of Assistant Brass Caption Head. Sean is also beginning his fourth year with the corps, having served as our trumpet technician since 2014. Sean is the band director at Ipswich High School and is an assistant marching band director at Norwood High School, both in MA. He is a two year alumni of the Boston Crusaders.
Continuing as Front Ensemble Caption Head is Colin Mason. This will be Colin’s third year running the front ensemble and 6th year as a staff member. Like his brother Brendan, Colin is also well-known for his skills as a Rudimental Drumming performer, clinician, and educator. Rachel Lowery will be assuming the role of Color Guard Caption Head for the 2017 season! Rachel is a second year staff member who brings a wealth of energy and teaching experience to the team. She has worked with numerous high school color guards, including Trumbull, CT High School and is a former member of the Phantom Regiment. Jesse Burbank will be returning in 2017 for his second year as Visual Caption Head and his third year on staff at 7th. Jesse is a former horn sergeant of the Cadets and has taught various high school band programs. In January of 2017, he will be traveling with the Spirit of America Marching Band to Dubai as a part of DCU’s initiative to start marching bands in the Middle East.
